Since we arrived to Katarina's house late last night from Atlantic, we all decided to sleep in. It was much needed! Since we woke up late, we ate a late lunch at a restaurant in Morristown, NJ called "The Committed Pig". Even though we had to drive an hour to the restaurant, it was worth it! I had a turkey burger, Katarina and Connie had salads, and Nikos and Michael ate burgers. Nikos' burger was so large that it cost $20 (€17.14)!
After lunch, we then walked in Morristown to a place called the "Morristown Game Vault". It is in a old bank that has been transformed into a retro arcade. I played a few times on the multiple pinball machines and Katarina played on many of the video games. Her family LOVES to play on the popular video game called "Galaga". Her whole family achieved high scores on the score board for Galaga!
Once Katarina's family and I finished playing, we decided to drive back home to eat dinner. As I was driving home with Katarina and Michael, I wanted to stop in Princeton to buy a couple of books. I made sure that I bought the books in English so I could practice. Katarina advised that I start with classic literature that is read in American high schools. I bought "The Catcher and the Rye" by J.D. Salinger and "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck. Katarina read these books when she was in high school and enjoyed them very much. I look forward to reading them!
As Katarina and I worked on the blog, her father cooked a delicious dinner of sautéed scallops with linguini and sautéed kale and artichoke hearts. It was delicious and nice to eat a home cooked meal! After dinner, Katarina, her father Michael, Nikos, and I started to watch a classic American teen film called "Clueless". It is about a teenage girl who lives in Beverly Hills, CA. It is a fun and entertaining movie! It was a great movie to end the night with.
